Woolwell Townswomen's Guild
The Townswomen's Guild movement was formed in 1929 out of the Suffragists movement and the objects are:
To advance the education of women irrespective of race, creed and party so as to enable them to make the best contribution towards the common good.
To educate such women in the principles of good citizenship and in all public questions, both national and international.
To advance the education of the public by carrying out research into any public questions whether local, national or international and publishing the useful results of such research
There are currently over 34,000 members of Townswomens Guilds from all ages, backgrounds and experiences who attend the 850 branches nationwide, providing a platform for a voice on numerous issues concerning not just women but society in general.

April 2012 Guild Report
Chairman Margaret Jones welcomed members and one visitor to the guild’s April meeting. During the business meeting, all reports were read. Members were reminded of forthcoming events, including the guild’s Jubilee Supper and Federation’s AGM, Rally and Summer Outing.
