Apple Scone Round

8oz plain flour
½ tsp salt
2tsp baking powder
2oz margarine
2oz castor sugar
1 medium cooking apple: grated
2 tbsp milk

 

Rub in margarine to dry ingredients.  Add milk plus apple and create a dough.

Knead on a floured surface into an 8” circle.  Score into 8 sections.

Glaze with milk and sprinkle Demerara sugar over, to taste.

Cook on a baking sheet for 20-25 minutes at 400°F.

When cooled I cut a section in half and spread with butter!
